What data do we collect?
JCOF collects personal identification information. For example, we collect your name, email address, street address, phone number, and the type of Jaguar that you drive (if any). We do not collect personal financial information.
The process for online payment of dues and event fees links directly to PayPal. Neither the JCOF website nor its host server retain any private information associated with this transaction. However, PayPal does send us an email notification that a payment was made for deposit to our account. This notification does not share any personal financial information (credit card number, PayPal or bank account number, etc) with us. PayPal only sends us the payer’s name and address, a description of the payment (dues, event fee, etc), and the amount of the payment. You may read the PayPal Privacy Statement to find out how PayPal protects your personal information.
How do we collect your data?
You directly provide us with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:
- Use our online form to join JCOF or renew your membership and opt to pay your dues online through our PayPal service.
- Fill out an online form to sign up for a club event and pay your entry fees through our PayPal service.
- View our website via your browser’s cookies.
JCOF does not receive your data indirectly from any third-party source.
How will we use your data?
Our organization collects your data so that we can:
- Add you to our membership database with accurate contact information.
- Register you as a participant in club events with details about your participation.
- Communicate by email to keep you up to date on club business.
We will not share your data with any third party.
How do we store your data?
JCOF stores your data in the following ways:
- When you submit an online form to join the club, renew a membership, or register for an event, the information you provide is captured in a submissions database that is accessible only by the website administrator. At the same time, the information is emailed to the relevant JCOF Officer and/or member of the Steering Committee. The website administrator deletes information in the submissions database as soon as it has been forwarded to the relevant parties. We do not post or store on the website any information obtained from a form submission, nor do we pass it on to any third party
- Our Membership Chairman stores your personal information in a spreadsheet for as long as you are a member of JCOF. When you are no longer a member, your personal information is deleted from the spreadsheet.
- Certain JCOF Officers and members of the Steering Committee maintain a list of email addresses in order to communicate with members. When you are no longer a member, your email address is deleted from the email list.
- We post personal information only with the consent of the owner of the information. For the protection of our members, any email address that appears on any page of the website is encoded in the source code for that page. Email harvesting software or “spambots” cannot decipher this code.
